Letting Go and Letting In

Letting Go and Letting In – Opening up to the Possibilities

Have you ever had a time in your life that truly transformed you?

How about a moment that caused you to stop what you were doing and really look at your life and make a change?

What about a period in life where you were ready to move forward, but didn’t exactly know how?

Recently, such a time happened for me and I wanted to share it with you.

A time of letting go…

In April I treated myself to a wonderful spa and retreat in the Arizona desert hosted by Donna Cardillo, the Inspiration Nurse. I set an intention for the week to let go. Let go of the things that brought anxiety, not joy; to release self-doubt, guilt, and comparison. As a result of this goal, I needed to shine a light in the cobwebs and the corners of my life and remove the things that drained me physically, emotionally, spiritually, and mentally.

While at the retreat I relaxed, had fun, enjoyed the company of other nurses and gained insight and enlightenment regarding myself and my career. I could actually feel the slow, soft, subtle flow of letting go. Releasing what was holding me back!

Comparing myself to other:

  • women
  • writers
  • nurses
  • EVERYTHING

 Letting go of:

  • preconceived notions
  • constant connection to technology
  • constant connection to social media

AND, letting in the beautiful surroundings, to natural beauty, to light, and to possibilities.

Mind clear, body energized, spirit grateful

I allowed time for opening up and letting in joy. Then came worthiness, wholeness, renewal, faithfulness and compassion. Letting in the love and shared experiences of the nurses present. Letting in life, loss, and living; all a part of the joyful journey.

I began to feel grounded again; connected to my purpose, the meaningful life ahead of me. Letting in clarity, loving kindness, strength and courage has prepared me for whatever was next. My cup was full.

This experience reminded me of the importance of rest and renewal and most importantly, the significance of letting go of whatever holds you back. Life changes, experiences change!

Be open to removing what drains you and letting in the possibilities that await you!

Pam
